Present Position: Reproductive Biologist and Toxicologist, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Reproductive Toxicology Division, NHEERL, MD 72 Telephone: (919) 541 5779; Email: klinefelter.gary@epa.gov Education: B.S., Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA; Animal Science, 1976 M.S., Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA; Dairy Science, 1979 Ph.D., University of Minnesota, Minneapolis; Anatomy, 1984 Postdoctoral Research, Johns Hopkins Univ., Baltimore, MD; Reproductive Biology, 1988 Research: Development of novel biomarkers of fertility, Leydig cell hyperplasia, epididymal dysgenesis, and altered spermiogenesis. Characterization of alterations in protein expression in reproductive organs compromised by both endocrine disruptive and non-endocrine disruptive insults. Isolation and culture of epididymal epithelial cells, purified Leydig cells,and seminiferous tubules. Proteomic and morphological characterizations of the epididymis, the testis, and sperm. Family and friends: Live in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina with wife Karen, sons Sean and Cody, and father Ira. Hobbies include hunting and horseback riding. Still in touch with many friends from days at Penn State (Jim Alban, Doug Darr, Max Arentz, Randy Test, and former MS mentors Rupert Amann and Roy Hammerstedt).
